The first ecommerce transaction took place in 1994 and in that time, the expectations of customers has shifted exponentially while the process of creating and publishing content hasn’t. Until now. Today ecommerce interactions for most customers are part of an omni-channel experience. To research, browse, shop, and purchase seamlessly between different devices and on different platforms is now an expectation. 

Visual assets include user generated content, campaign imagery, product imagery and of course video, with each one playing a unique, but crucially important role, in the customers experience along the path to purchase and engagement with a brand story. 

The in-store shopping experience has seen its own transformation but still remains irreplaceable but complimentary to online. Customers, however expect more personalisation, differentiation and storytelling to enhance their engagement. 

Brands are required to produce more visual assets to populate their digital channels, in less time and with budgets that are now spread more thinly. Buyers, Planners and Merchandisers aspire to keep the in-store experience fresh and engaging by creating more stories, more frequently.
